Pei Shan graduated as part of the pioneer cohort from Singapore Institute of Technology’s Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy and has since attained full registration with Singapore’s Allied Health Professions Council.

Upon graduation, Pei Shan worked in the public health sector where she worked closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide geriatric patients with individualized therapy sessions to optimize their recovery. She also provided training to caregivers on managing patients’ conditions and care.

Pei Shan prides herself in her ability to learn, un-learn, and re-learn. Prior to starting her career as an Occupational Therapist, she was a special education teacher employed in a voluntary welfare organization where she supported children with learning needs (mainly autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, speech and language delay, and global developmental delay).

She has experience using activity-based strategies to develop children’s literacy skills, social and functional abilities as well as managing their behaviours.

Pei Shan has always had a passion for working with children and hopes to continue her journey to support them now as an Occupational Therapist. She appreciates two-way communication and partnering parents on their children’s learning journey – actively involving and empowering them with individualized care plans for each family.
