Ornela has a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, she previously worked in the UK where she has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their parents/care givers. She previously worked in a Children and Adolescent In-patient unit, was a part of a specialist Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) team, and Crisis Team.

Ornela’s therapeutic approach is guided by Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. She has extensive experience in working with children and adolescents who present with emerging personality disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, behavioural problems, social-emotional challenges, suicidality, self-harm, eating disorders, and emotional dysregulation. Ornela co-facilitated DBT Skills Groups with both children and their parents, teaching them skills under the modules of Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Ornela believes in accentuating that every child can collaboratively, with the therapist, build a life worth living.
