Karen Ang

Karen is a Singaporean Speech Pathologist who studied her Masters in Speech Pathology in Australia. Prior to joining Dynamics, she was working in Australia with children in school and home settings. She had conducted individual speech therapy sessions as well as advised teachers and parents how to handle the children. Karen has experience working with children with Autism spectrum disorder, speech delay (expressive and receptive language delay) and children with literacy difficulties.

She is passionate about her work and dedicated to provide excellent care to the children she sees.

Karen is trained in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).

Karen is bilingual and can provide therapy in both English and Mandarin. 

 
Fatima Ionescu


Fátima Ionescu

Fátima is a British trained Portuguese Speech and Language Therapist.
She studied Linguists at the Classic University of Lisbon in Portugal and obtained her Post-Graduate qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist from City Univesity in London, UK, two leading universities in their respective fields. She is also a member of the Health Professions Council in the UK which is an entity that regulates all Health Professionals to ensure optimum quality of service delivery. 

Prior to joining Dynamics Therapy Centre for Kids, Fátima worked in the Early Communication Team of a busy London borough. She provided individual and group speech and language therapy for a caseload of around 300 children, both in a clinic, home and school setting. She has also worked in a school for verbal and non verbal children with autism.

She has extensive experience working with preschoolers with a variety of language/ speech delays and disorders and learning difficulties, most of them bilingual. As part of her job in London, Fátima also did a lot of prevention work in the community, such as training of parents/other professionals and running general language groups in Children's Centres.

Fátima is also a researcher and is currently involved in a project in partnership with City University in London and her previous job, analysing children's language skills in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

Fátima is very passionate about her work and has an interactive and friendly manner which means both the parents and their children feel welcome and enjoy their time during the therapy sessions.

She is Hanen Certified It Takes Two To Talk®.

Fátima is bilingual and can provide therapy both in English and in Portuguese.


Debora Marchini

Nikoletta Mappouridou
B.A Speech Therapy
Greece

Nikoletta is a Speech Pathologist from Cyprus. She graduated from Univeristy of Greece, which specializes in speech disorders. She was successfully running her own speech therapy centre in Cyprus, prior to relocating to Singapore.

Nikoletta is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Singapore (SHAS) and Autism Society of America.

She has a proven track record working with hundreds of children with autism, weak phonological awareness, poor oral-motor development, articulation difficulties, dyslexia and down syndrome. Nikoletta is committed to the improvement of the children under her care and believes in family-centric therapy.

Nikoletta can provide therapy both in English and in Greek.

Debora Marchini
Debora Marchini

São Paulo, Brazil

Debora is a Brazilian Speech and Language Therapist. She graduated from UNICAMP and did her Post-Graduation in USP, two of the best universities in São Paulo state, Brazil.

She is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Singapore (SHAS) and with her degree in Brazil she is able to work as an Audiological Consultant as well.

She had been working in a University Hospital in Brazil and had been exposed to a wide variety of challenges in a Pediatric Care. She is also used to work with cases of orofacial myofunctional disorder that include specific conditions or behaviours that can have a negative impact on oral postures and function (ex: tongue thrusting, deviate swallowing, mouth breathing, orofacial muscle imbalance, deviate mandibularmovement).

Debora is intuitive and passionate about working with children. She is interactive and tactile therapist that allows the child to enjoy the therapy in an enjoyable and informal situation.

She provides therapy in Portuguese and English.

Even if you feel your child doesn’t have a particular problem, but you want him or her to be stimulated in a particular language area, then bring them along to our Centre and let them enjoy the relaxed and friendly environment.

Learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere allows the child to develop independent learning skills that are fun and interactive.

Candice Quarmby

Candice Quarmby
Cum Laude Bachelor of Communication Pathology, Speech-Language Pathology
South Africa

Candice is a South African Speech and Language Therapist. She graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with Cum Laude Honours, and is a member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa, through which she maintains a high level of continued professional development.

She was a Speech and Language Therapist in South Africa prior to joining Dynamics Speech Therapy Centre for Kids, and worked with clients of all ages, including children ranging from early infancy to teenage years. She has experience in seeing children with various types of challenges including: speech delay and language delay, dysphagia (feeding and swallowing difficulties), Autism Spectrum Disorder, phonological disorders, articulation difficulties, dysfluency and working with non-verbal children using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). In her previous job, Candice was involved in multiple community based projects which gave her the opportunity to gain experience in councelling parents, through a family orientated approach.

Candice has a love of children that translates into relaxed sessions, in which a child can grow and progress whilst having fun! She is passionate about therapy that meets the needs and lifestyle of the individual child and family, and welcomes parent collaboration to enhance treatment and help a child to reach his or her full communicative potential!

Candice is TalkTools® and Lidcombe trained.

Candice’s mother tongue is English.

Tong Ruyi

Tong Ruyi

B. App. Sc. (Hons.) (Speech Pathology)
Australia

Ruyi is a Speech and Language Therapist. She graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia. Prior to joining Dynamics Therapy Centre for Kids, Ruyi worked in the Early Intervention Program run by a local VWO.

Ruyi is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Singapore (SHAS) and of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA). She has extensive experience working with preschoolers with autism, and a track record achieving progress with non-verbal children. Ruyi is billingual and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. 

Ruyi underwent initial training by the PROMPT Institute, and is also trained in PECS and TalkTools®.


Melanie Yates

Melanie Yates
B.Sc. (Hons.) Speech and Language Therapy
United Kingdom

Melanie is a South African Speech and Language Therapist. She graduated from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, and practiced as a Speech and Language Therapist is London prior to joining Dynamics. Melanie has experience working with children with speech delay, verbal dyspraxia, learning disabilities, articulation difficulties, and phonological disorders. Melanie has a proven track record of working with non-verbal children and stimulating their communication skills through a variety of means such as PECS and sign language.

Melanie brings to Dynamics Therapy Centre a high level of professionalism and passion for helping children reach their best level of communication. She is loved by the children under her care, both expatriate and local.

Melanie’s mother tongue is English.
