Dharshini trained as a speech therapist in Sydney, achieving a Bachelor's degree with Class I Honours from University of Sydney. She is fully registered with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore and has experience supervising new graduates as well as mentoring other speech therapists in advanced areas of practice. Her experience spans multiple settings including acute care, subacute wards, rehabilitation and outpatient clinics.
Dharshini worked with a diverse caseload while in Sydney, providing assessment and intervention for adults and children with speech, language literacy, and/or stuttering difficulties. In Singapore, she also worked with those who have acquired and/or degenerative swallowing, communication and voice impairments. Dharshini has advanced skills in Videofluroscopic Swallowing Study (VFSS), Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) as well as experience working with people with tracheostomy. She is also trained in evaluating and managing voice disorders.
Passionate about helping others, Dharshini relies on evidence based techniques, a heavy dose of determination and a holistic management plan with clear goals to maximise her clients' quality of life. She has presented her work at international conferences such as the European Society for Swallowing Disorders Congress, Laryngology and Voice Association, and International Federation of Otorhinolaryngology Societies.
