Kumar Sudhansu earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Mysore (2000) and has devoted his clinical practice to the paediatric speech and language field for the last 16 years. He has been a speech – language therapist since 2004 and has worked in several institutions as a Principal Speech Therapist in Singapore.
He received training in Singapore on auditory-verbal therapy, Oral-Placement Therapy, PROMPT, Social Thinking® by Michelle Garcia – Winner, S.O.S. Approach to Feeding, Sensory Processing for Speech–Language Pathologists by Karin Brinkmann and Therapeutic Play. He has attended conventions focusing on early intervention as well as in improving professional practice in speech therapy. He also has a certification from the Hanen Centre for the approaches used in It Takes Two to Talk® and More Than Words®. Sudhansu has also been a supervisor for junior speech–language therapists and has conducted several workshops in Singapore in Allied Education and Mainstream teaching.
Sudhansu is a staunch advocate of strong family and school involvement in intervention. Thus, he provides numerous training programmes and workshops for parents, teachers and caregivers. He conducts assessments and intervention for children with various communication issues including those who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech–language delay, motor-speech disorders including apraxia/dyspraxia of speech, various paediatric oral-sensory motor and feeding issues, genetic syndromes/chromosomal disorders, learning disabilities, auditory processing disorders (APD), and children having limited skills in social communication.
He has additionally completed Basic Singapore Sign Language certified by Singapore Association for the Deaf.
