Social and Emotional /
Behavioral Assessment

Children live in a world of their own and often times it is difficult to understand what they may be thinking or feeling.  If your child seems to be more withdrawn or anxious than before, this assessment will help uncover the problems they may be facing.

This comprehensive evaluation is designed to help understand your child’s behavior in both the home and school settings.

Projective Assessments

Dynamics is currently one of the few places in Singapore with clinical psychologists trained in the Exner Comprehensive System of scoring for the Rorschach Inkblot Test.

Projective assessments are a way to uncover your child’s psyche. This comprehensive assessment helps understand his/her interpersonal relationships, emotional concerns, responses to anger or rejection, behavioral concerns and so forth.

Various other projective measures are also available. These measures are non-threatening in their format, colorful and help the child feel at ease in the test situation.

Neuropsychological
Evaluation

Head injury can lead to many problems in executive functioning for a child later on in life, especially if not identified at an early age.

Concerned about an open head or closed head injury? After the injury, has your child’s behavior changed? Does it seem there might be some personality concerns as well?

This comprehensive assessment helps to pinpoint which areas of your child’s brain may be affected and includes recommendations on how to best help with potential problems in the future.

IQ Testing

Intellectual assessment is unlike a school examination. It is a process of engaging in activities with a child that provides a broad sampling of his or her thinking abilities.

Intelligence is a much larger concept then what can be assessed and documented through intelligence tests.

  • Psychologist (M.A): $600
  • Senior Psychologist (Doctor): $800
Academic Achievement
Testing

When there is a question why your child is not performing as well as they should, we offer achievement testing.
In these tests we will assess your child’s academic potential or Intelligence testing and we will supplement this with achievement tests to assess the child’s level of reading, writing, spelling, and ability to do math.
The psychologist will provide a comprehensive report and will give recommendations of how to better help your child cope with the school demands.

  • Psychologist (M.A): $1000
  • Senior Psychologist (Doctor): $1200
Autism Assessment

We use a variety of assessment tools to diagnose Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD), and Asperger Syndrome.

It is important to cover a few areas when testing for these disorders in order to make sure that the diagnosis given is accurate.

ADOS is an assessment designed to diagnose Autism.

The ADOS, or Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (WPS, 1999), is a standardized, semi-structured assessment of communication, social interaction and play for individuals who may have autism or other pervasive developmental disorders. The ADOS assessment consists of standardized activities that allow the examiner to observe behaviors identified as important in children with autism spectrum disorders. Structured activities and materials provide standard contexts in which social interactions, communication and other behaviors relevant to pervasive developmental disorders are likely to appear.

We provide ADOS assessment to children, as part of an Autism assessment package which includes IQ testing and/or adaptive behavior scale. The ADOS assessment allows us to diagnose autism, and to indicate where on the spectrum the child is. Such diagnosis is useful for:

  • Placement in autism-specific schools
  • Establish baseline for intervention (e.g. repeating the ADOS test after intervention can show improvement along the spectrum)

Eliminate or confirm autism for suspected cases (especially for shy children or children with verbal difficulties)

Development Delay

Infants respond to parental touch and smell. They can search their mothers’ faces and turn to look in the direction of their caregivers’ voice. Infants also begin cooing and babbling at a certain age.

What happens when your baby does not seem to do reaching for you or responding to sound?

An assessment designed to evaluate developmental delays is ideal if you are considering there may be some problems at a young age.

$1200
Diagnostic Assessment

The Diagnostic Assessment is designed to specific tailor the tests to questions or concerns you may have about your child. There may be some observable concerns but it is difficult to fully comprehend what is happening. This assessment helps to identify problem areas and diagnose your child based on international criteria.
