Claire is an Irish Speech and Language Therapist who studied at University College Cork, Ireland. She is a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists.

Claire has experience working with a diverse caseload of children with articulation and phonological delays and disorders, language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and intellectual and special learning disabilities. She has101 volunteered with a social group for children with special needs for several years and I am aware of the communicative difficulties they face in different environments, and what can be done to facilitate and enhance their communication.

She is enthusiastic to develop her professional skills as a Speech and Language Therapist. She has completed Level 1 of Lámh (Irish sign system for people with special needs). She has completed Autism Awareness training and Intensive Interaction Therapy training. She is also certified in the ‘Introduction to Children First’ e-learning programme developed by TUSLA, the Irish child and Family Agency.

Claire enjoys working with children, and she creates a fun and energetic atmosphere to engage them in therapy and develop their communication potential to the fullest. She believes it is vitally important to have parents and caregivers actively involved in sessions and the overall therapy process, and she value their opinions and strive to work with them to generalise therapy goals into the home environment and beyond. She works closely with other team members to ensure that all of the child’s needs are met and they have an improved quality of life.
